3 Lessons Learned from taping my first live video.

Hello Everyone:
For the past three months, my blog articles have been focusing on how to accentuate your blog using audio and video. Yet, the videos have been photo collages and montages. Finally, in this blog post you get to see Coach Jane Lee live and in person. You can say I came out of the closet finally with video production. It was an interesting experience. Lessons learned are as follows
1) Relax when you are video taping. Sometimes we are so concerned about how we appear that we look so serious and sound so flat on the video. Just be yourself.
2) Do not be so hard on self on the first take of the video. I taped myself 7 times and had fun with it. With the more takes, the more I learned about angles, lighting, and posture.
3) There is software that will help with editing and deleting segments of the videos that you do not particularly care for.
Below is the video which is a welcome message to all the members of the “Continuity Blogging Community”
Thank you to Melanie Kissell, who came up with the name of the community-”Continuity Blogging”. Yes, on one of the videos I kept saying Melanie Kissell from Mompreneur which I had to cut because her website is Solo Mompreneur. Finally, figured how to cut portions of the video. Next is to figure out how to put in revised edits. Look forward to that. Enjoy the video.

Hi Jane
Your video was cool, you look great
I have not yet built up enough courage to get in front of the camera, instead I have been shying behind it with video tutorials from screen recordings.
Your tips should help me take the next step and get in front of it.
Thanks for sharing such valuable information from your own personal experiences,
Sally

Hi Sally:
Thank you for your comments about my video. It’s very nerve racking the first time around with putting a video together. I finally said. Just do one and start getting my feet wet. Interesting to note that with online, people want to hear what you have to say and the information that is going to help them.
You are off to a great start with doing video tutorials. All the best. Look forward to seeing your first video.
Regards,
Jane
Hi Jane,
I love your blog and your video.
What software did you use to edit the video?
Thanks,
Ann

Hi Ann:
Thanks for stopping by. I use a flip camera and it has built in software. Once you shoot the video, the flip has a USB that you upload to computer or laptop and screen show up with software and you take it from there. Hope that helps.
Regards,
Jane
Thanks, Jane! I didn’t realize the Flip had software that would let you edit. I thought the big thing was that it was ready to upload…but I’m aware of how much small edits can make in my audio, so I think I also want to be able to edit the video.
So many pieces to every puzzle. Thank you for sharing.
Ann

Hi Ann
Yes, the flip camera has built in software and it is called flip share. Once you plug in Flip UBS to compute or laptop. Flip share screen will show up. You download pictures to your computer and make the required changes and then you can share with facebook, twitter or You Tune. Have a good one.
Jane
Thanks, Jane. Your video is beautiful, sharp & clear, even in full screen mode.
Which flip model are you using?

Hi Ann:
Hope you had a good weekend. Thank you for your question on which Flip camera was used for the video. Wrote a blog article based on all the questions received.

It’s the Flip Ultra HD Camcorder.
