Hello Everyone:
Don’t you just love the holidays. It’s the most festive time of the year with lots of parties. This is the best time to network and meet prospective clients, form partnerships and continue to build your tribe. The reality is the action that one takes after the event that will propel your business to the next level.
4 Tips to Network your Way to Success and Further Grow your Business.
1) The Follow Up
It’s what one does after the holiday parties and networking events that makes all the difference. Take the first step and send out that email or facebook message. Why wait for others to contact you? This will further increase rapport building and demonstrate an interest. You will be surprised at the response you get.
2) Referral Source
Being a resource is key. People connect with those who love to help and give back. It’s the law of reciprocity. By providing information, and referring others you build credibility and also become memorable.
3) Leave the Scarcity Mindset at Home
Some people come from a place that is a lack of abundance and scarcity. They will only give business cards away or talk to people that they deem appropriate for for their services. Why close yourself to opportunities?
4) Being receptive and open to meeting others
Sometimes we all get comfortable by going to parties with a friend and just talk to them all night. It can be uncomfortable approaching a stranger, however a simple smile or a hello will do fine. How do I know this? Well, I am an introvert and do not like to be in group settings. So, I am finally out of the closet with this information. To conquer my fears, I go to networking events alone to practice and get more comfortable in large group settings. It is all about facing one’s fear and stepping into your own power.

I absolutely need to start giving away my business cards more often. You are right. Sometime I have the mindset of only giving them to people who I deem appropriate. I need to move past that today!
