5 Personal Lessons that I Learned after Completing the 30 day Blog Challenge.

Hello Everyone:

Just one more day till the end of the 30 day blog challenge. Today is the 29th day and I wanted to share with you what I finally learned from this type of challenge or any challenge for that matter..

Drum roll please-

1) Wow, I am amazed that I completed the 30 day blog challenge. Time to break out the champagne.  It is quite an accomplishment to complete any challenge for that matter. Always, reward yourself for any accomplishments that you have made. This gives one incentive to take on more activities and participate in future challenges.

2) Yes, there were times when I was a couple days behind, but that did not stop me from going on. I admit, I did fall off the wagon a couple of times, and the true test is not to give up and just get back up and plough through as they say. We are all human and why be so hard on ourselves. It’s okay to have setbacks. This is just part of the process.

3) Do not take it personally. Yes, I was so excited at the beginning of the challenge and posted my blog and then no one commented, tweeted or facebook share my material. What was I doing wrong? Why didn’t they like me?  Remember it’s not all about you. It takes time for people to get to know you. See number 4 below.

4) It takes time to build relationships- With building new found friendships and relationships. One must get to know one another. You comment on someone blog and tweet about several times. These people will respond in kind. It’s all about giving and providing resources to help others.

5) Pace yourself- You will find a rhythm when it comes to blogging. Some of us like to blog in the morning while others in the evening. Others like to mass produce while others make one piece at a time. Go at your own pace.

Did not want to make this piece too long. Wanted to share a couple of personal lessons that I learned from going through the 30 day blog challenge. What are some of the personal lessons that you have learned from participating in a challenge? We love to hear your story.

  2. Wonderful and poignant lessons, Jane!

As I read down through your list, I was imagining that lots and lots of people who participated in this challenge would say these exact same things.

I’m proud of you for catching up when you fell behind — I had that experience, too! It happened to me during the last blogging challenge, as well.

Developing relationships never happens overnight. It gets a little frustrating when you’re sincerely working hard to make friends online. The circumstances and parameters are totally different than meeting people in person. If you and I weren’t 3000 miles apart, I would jump at the chance to have coffee or go to lunch with you.

The blogging challenge is just the beginning. Now it’s up to all of us to appreciate what we’ve learned and make the most of the experience by continuing to blog and keep the friendship fires burning!

  3. I’m a bit relieved it’s over…need to get on with other sites and business. However, I have enjoyed it and met great folks.

I think the biggest challenge is getting around to all blogs and posting comments. The last challenge I was in… here were very few people compared to this one.

It’s a little late in the game here… but I will be watching for your posts and tweets.

    Jane,
Looks like you’ve learned alot along your journey in the 30 day challenge. You have so much to celebrate! You have stayed the course and found your self here. Honestly, one of the reasons I was not willing to do this was because I knew the chances of people going to my blog each and every day would be asking too much.

There, I admitted it! You are powerful for stepping into it and following through! Kudos,
    Val :)
