Success is Failure Turned Inside Out

Success is Failure Turned Inside Out

Have you ever heard about the “Don’t Quit Poem” which was written by an unknown author. This particular line in the poem really resonnated with me. “Success is Failure Turned Inside Out” is so powerful. Wanted to post some inspiration and share this to brighten your day. Don’t ever give up, success is just around the corner when you least expect it. Enjoy.

Don’t Quit Poem

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow–
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned
too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out–
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit–
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Customer Service and the Banking Industry/Institution

Recently, I posted a blog article titled:

The whole premise of this blog post was about providing excellent customer service which is imperative when it comes to growing your business. As solo-entrepreneurs, home based business, coaches and service professionals having customers/clients is the life line of our business. Happy and satified customers ensures repeat business. Without clients we have no business and therefore we generate no money/income.

In this blog post, we put institutions to the test. I was at the bank the other day trying to deposit a check and usually get a roll of quarters for the laundomat or for parking meters. The bank teller asked if I have a bankcard which I did not. I asked why? He stated that you can use the bankcard to deposit the check. Why was he telling me this which I thought was odd?

What ever happened to the level of customer service at all the banking institutions? Do they still interact with customers when they walking in the door? By saying- “Hello. How can we help you today?” or “Is there anything else you will be needing assistance with?”

Even when I first entered into the bank there was a reception area and the person was reading some document. Too busy to notice a customer walking by them. What kind of customer service was that? I hardly ever go to the bank and do mostly everything online as well as most of my shopping.

Maybe I am in New York City with so many people that getting personalized service is much hard these days.

Last month, I had to take my mom to the bank and the first thing the bank representative said “I am filling out this survey. Will you participate?” My mom had a question to ask. Then bank representative reiterate this is something the bank is doing and asked again for her participation. Are institutions and corporations listening to their customers before pushing their product or services. I can definitely understand that competition is stiff out there and banks are located at every street corner. If the customer service stinks or not up to snuff, then customers will take their business elsewhere.

As I am writing this blog post about customer service and sharing my experience with the banking industry. This article came out earlier this week. Guess what? Not surprising based on a survey conducted that the banking industry are ranked the worst when it comes to overall customer service. Listed below is the link to the article.

You are probably wondering so how does this apply to my business for I am not an institution like a bank or a corporation? Based on the lack of customer service with corporations and large industries. We know that customers/clients
like to be serviced and taken care of especially if they are giving you money for services rendered or buying a product. More people are shopping at the boutiques and stores where they get excellent customer service. Corporations and companies may think that it’s okay lose several customer because of the mass amount of people in their database. Yet, as solo-entrepreneurs, home based business, service professionals, and coaches losing just one customer is very costly for your business.

What do you think about all of this?

Chasing After Bright Shining Objects

Last week on Sales Success Mindset radio show, we focused on the subject “Chasing After Bright Shining Objects”. As entrepreneurs, coaches, service professionals and home based business owners, we chase after numerous shiny objects which takes us away from the task at hand which is to grow our business. In fact we sabatoge ourselves when we take too many courses, and attend numerous of events . Time is money and if we divest most of our time into doing other activities, when do we actually have time to focus on our business. Bottom line is to turn prospects into customers and generating revenue to expand our business. Now, I am not saying not to take courses, seminars, workshops and attend conference. Focus on activities that will provide a return on investment, such as getting new clients, prospective joint venture partnerships and other opportunities.

How to Download Kindle eBooks without a Kindle

Alright, I have to admit that I am not an early adopter when it comes to purchasing new gadgets and gizmos. My life is so simple that I use a PC, basic cell phone and legal pad to run my business. Yes, I do not have an ipad, ipod or even a kindle and I certainly can live without these advance technology tools. I still send out notecards, and letters via the snail mail method.

As a marketing and sales coach, I am always reviewing magazines, newspapers, taking classes and reading books on business development, entrepreneurship, sales and marketing. Came across a posting on Facebook regarding Kathleen Gage’s Kindle e-book 101 Ways to Get Your Foot in the Door
and I wanted to purchase this product. Alway be on top of the latest information in your area of expertise. There was only one problem- I am not an owner of a Kindle. Does this mean that I have to purchase a brand new Kindle inorder to get acces to this e-book? Not necessarily.

Amazon, is definitely on top of things. There is a free reading application to download for PC, MAC, iphone, ipad, BlackBerry, or Android Phone. Once an ebook is purchase, it get sent. How cool is that? Click —-> Get Your Free Kindle Reading Apps

Pretty impressive! Did not even consider purchasing a Kindle. Now, it is on my wishlist. Upload a bunch of ebooks for a fraction of the cost of purchasing the hardcover or paperback. No need to carry 5 or more books physicially. My back and neck definitely Thanks You Amazon.

Do you have a Kindle? Share with us what your experience has been. Don’t have a Kindle yet and planning to get one? What prompted you to consider getting a Kindle?

Incoporating Animoto Videos on your Blog Posts?

Attached is a recent Animoto video that I put together on the launch of the “12 Steps to Celebrating Succes Progam”. Just wanted to share how easy it is to put a video together.

Are you incorportating videos in your blog post?  When I first started blogging, it was clip art and using personal photographs. I was so conscious about the way I looked on the camera that I did not produce any personal videos for a while. I like to use Animoto. What is so great about this service is that it is so simple to use. Just upload the your own pictures from your computer or pick the ones available on the Animoto site. Pick from their music selection or upload your own music from your computer.

By adding videos, your blog takes a whole new life form of it’s own. Don’t get me wrong. Pictures do say a 1,000 words. But whose counting. It’s as simple as 1,2,3 when using Animoto. Found out about Animoto through Lou Bortone.

Animoto has a free version where you can make an unlimited amount of 30 second videos. There is a paid version that costs only $30 for the whole year and you can make as many full-length videos and as long as you want. For more information click on the Animoto button below or for the link click here

Happy Anniversary! Our Blog is One Year Wiser.

Happy Anniversary!

It’s party time. Congratulations! My blogsite is celebrating it’s first year anniversary. We certainly have come a long way since last year. The purpose and intention of having this blog/website was to get into the habit of writing and to share my experiences of being an entrepreneur after leaving corporate america. You could say this was test-lab. Major learning curve and experience to find out what types of articles resonnate with our readers and followers.

Learned several lessons after having a blog for 1 year. This blog/site anniversary is March 21. Baby you certainly have come a long way! Happy Birthday! May you continue to grow to your full potential in the years to come.

A) Blogging takes time as well as diverting traffic to one’s site.

B) If you think you are going to get rich overnight, better think again.

C) Pump up the volume by accentuating your blog with videos, audios, interviews, guest blog posts, etc. Your readers will thank you for it.

D) If you drop-off the face off the earth by falling off the wagon, your readers are so compassionate for they will come back. Always provide content that will be a resource and leads for your readers.

E) Make sure you participate in blog challenges, blogging communities for there you will meet your neighbors and many new found friends.

F) No matter what happens, do not give up on your blog. For one voice will be lost in the crowd and become another statistic of those who started a blog and just vanished.

G) Blogging is a great marketing tool to grow your business.

A big thank you to all my readers and follower for your patience and your continued support.

Happy Blogging!
